🇷🇺🇺🇸 Compatriots living in the USA held a series of commemorative events timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Representatives of the Russian diaspora and concerned Americans laid wreaths and flowers at the memorial to the heroes of ALSIB in Fairbanks, at the graves of Soviet pilots at Fort Richardson Military Cemetery in Anchorage (Alaska), at the monument to Soviet soldiers in Plummer Park in Los Angeles and at the memorial bench for soldiers who fell in the battles of World War II in Lincoln Park in San Francisco (California); at a memorial stone to Red Army soldiers in Beaverton (Oregon); at the burial of Red Fleet marine M.Anisimov at the Evergreen Valley Cemetery in Seattle (Washington); at obelisks to the participants of World War II in Vancouver (Washington), Tallahassee (Florida) and New York, as well as at the bas-relief “Spirit of Elbe” and the inscription “Murmansk” in the National World War II Memorial in the American capital. They organized “Immortal Regiment” marches, car rallies, meetings with veterans and festive concerts including those in Illinois, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
