🧬با استفاده از رویکردی جدید شواهد محکمی کشف شد که نشان می‌دهد کتاب درسی چگونگیِ تکامل کد ژنتیکی جهانی نیاز به تجدید نظر دارد.
🧬درک کنونی از چگونگی تکامل کدها ناقص است، زیرا به‌جای شواهد تکاملی بر آزمایش‌های آزمایشگاهی گمراه کننده تکیه دارد. به‌عنوان مثال یک سنگ بنای دیدگاه‌های مرسوم، بر آزمایش معروف اوری-میلر در سال 1952 استوار است؛ آزمایشی که سعی در شبیه‌سازی شرایط روی زمین اولیه داشت.
🔬درحالی که جهت اثبات اینکه مواد غیر زنده می‌توانند از طریق واکنش‌های شیمیایی ساده به بلوک‌های سازنده حیات از جمله اسیدهای آمینه منجر شوند ارزشمند است؛ پیامدهای این آزمایش زیر سوال رفته است. مثلا باوجود فراوانی این عنصر در زمین اولیه هیچ اسید آمینه حاوی گوگرد تولید نشد پس اعتقاد این است که اسیدهای آمینه سولفوریک خیلی دیرتر به کد ملحق شده‌اند. با توجه به اینکه گوگرد از ترکیبات آزمایش حذف شده نتیجه به سختی تعجب آور است.
