El Gobierno español prevé elevar el presupuesto de Defensa al 1,3% del PIB en 2024, afirmó la ministra de Defensa del país ibérico, Margarita Robles, durante su intervención en el Congreso de los Diputados.
"El compromiso del Ejecutivo de Pedro Sánchez con la inversión en Defensa ha quedado demostrado al pasar de un 0,93% del PIB en 2018 al 1,24% en 2023. Nuestra previsión es que alcancemos el 1,3% del PIB en 2024", anunció la responsable de Defensa.
Sobre el aumento progresivo de este porcentaje, la titular del departamento ha afirmado que la inversión en Defensa alcanzará el 2% del PIB español en 2029.
Además, Robles resaltó que el crecimiento contribuirá a la satisfacción de las necesidades operativas de modernización de las Fuerzas Armadas y servirá como un agente "dinamizador" de la economía nacional.
