Более полувека назад, 12 апреля 1961 года, произошло событие мирового масштаба: 27-летний советский летчик Юрий Гагарин совершил первый в истории человечества полет в космос. На корабле "Восток-1" он облетел Землю на высоте 302 километра со скоростью около 28 тысяч километров в час. Так была открыта новая - космическая эра человечества.
В память об этом историческом событии, в память о триумфе советской науки и техники, в 1962 году в СССР и был учреждён День космонавтики.
Позже, в 2011 году, Генеральная Ассамблея ООН объявила 12 апреля Международным днем полета человека в космос.

Soloviev also promoted the channel in a post he shared on his own Telegram, which has 580,000 followers. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. VK is Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, a social network used for public and private messaging, audio and video sharing as well as online gaming. In January, SimpleWeb reported that VK was Russia’s fourth most-visited website, after Yandex, YouTube and Google’s Russian-language homepage. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.”
