In 1820 the American whaling ship Essex was rammed by a sperm whale and later sank inspiring the famous novel Moby Dick which was published in 1851. The novel “Moby Dick” is trying to teach us that we should never be so obsessed with one thing that we lose sight of the more important things in life. Moby Dick was a white whale.
“Moby Dick” focuses on morality, integrity, decency and mankind’s view of the natural world. In these turbulent times we are all doing our best to navigate through, the world is in need of kinder people. Recovering our humanity and our desire to seek the best in ourselves and one another is key. We need to become an Earth steward and a global citizen. If we are to be wise humans, we cannot value our species more than anything. We need mindful wisdom to guide us. Not fearful narratives, and negative comments.
There has never been a generation carrying both the greatest potential and bearing the greatest responsibility for the choices we make.
