6 февраля в библиотеке-отделе БЕН РАН в ИППИ РАН состоялось открытие выставки, посвященной 60-летию журнала «Проблемы передачи информации».

Со вступительным словом выступала заместитель директора по научно-организационной работе, к.э.н. О.Ю. Клевцова.

О задачах, которые ставит перед собой редакция на современном этапе, рассказал главный редактор журнала д.т.н. Е.М. Хоров. А после сотрудник научно-организационного отдела Е.М. Мичурина поделилась воспоминаниями о работе редакции.

И в завершение мероприятия прошла экскурсия по выставке под руководством заведующей библиотекой Л.Б. Лавровой.

Экспозиция будет открыта для посещения до 27 марта.

Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. Groups are also not fully encrypted, end-to-end. This includes private groups. Private groups cannot be seen by other Telegram users, but Telegram itself can see the groups and all of the communications that you have in them. All of the same risks and warnings about channels can be applied to groups. Messages are not fully encrypted by default. That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government. In December 2021, Sebi officials had conducted a search and seizure operation at the premises of certain persons carrying out similar manipulative activities through Telegram channels. Since January 2022, the SC has received a total of 47 complaints and enquiries on illegal investment schemes promoted through Telegram. These fraudulent schemes offer non-existent investment opportunities, promising very attractive and risk-free returns within a short span of time. They commonly offer unrealistic returns of as high as 1,000% within 24 hours or even within a few hours.
