🌟On December 3, 2025 a special screening of the documentary film “World War II: The Battle for Moscow” was held at the Russian Embassy in the United States. The event was timed to coincide with the Day of the Unknown Soldier and the 84th anniversary of the start of the Red Army’s counteroffensive.

🔹In his remarks Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States Alexander N. Darchiev emphasized the importance of ensuring that the younger generation and all of us never forget the enormous price paid for Victory, the first chapter of which was written in the Battle of Moscow.

🔹The event was attended by diplomats from CIS countries, members of the Russian-speaking community, media representatives, and students from the Embassy school, who recited wartime poetry.

🎬 The audience had the opportunity to view unique historical footage of the fateful battle in which elite Wehrmacht units that had previously conquered nearly all of Europe were defeated and driven back from the Soviet capital.

🔹In the foyer of the cinema theater, an exhibition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War was displayed, highlighting the key stages of the Soviet people’s struggle against Nazism: from the first days of the German invasion and the heroic defense of Brest Fortress, to the counteroffensive near Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, the Battle of Kursk, the lifting of the Leningrad blockade, and the storming of Berlin.

🥇 The event took place in an atmosphere of profound respect and remembrance for the Soviet soldier-liberator.
