Между нашей Дехайлой и другим древним городом Умм Аль-Джемаджим ("мать черепов"), пока не исследованным, в пустыне есть очень красивые урочища с большим понижением. Мы пока не знаем, что это, и являются ли они делом рук человеческих, или нет. Но точно известно, что в них растут арбузы. Да! Это дикие пустынные арбузы, колоцинты, citrullus colocynthis. Вот зачем, оказывается, арбузу так много воды внутри - он ее копит для жизни в пустыне. Но эффект от колоцинта другой, чем от нашего арбуза. Местные жители используют их как сильное слабительное. Ехидный Абдалла, молодой иракский археолог, работавший с нами, всем предлагал их поесть.
