Правозащитная организация Associazione Liberamente Umani (ALU) из Швейцарии направила письмо Майе Санду и Дорину Речану, а также в Европарламент и ООН с требованием прекратить давление на Гагаузию и уважать её право выражать позицию по поводу вступления Молдовы в ЕС.
В организации подчеркнули, что данное право закреплено законом и является частью статуса автономии, поэтому мнение региона должно учитываться.
ALU также заявила, что преследование башкана Гагаузии Евгении Гуцул носит политический характер и призвали власти строго соблюдать закон.
