Львиный фонтан, расположенный вдоль священного маршрута от Вади Аль-Фараса до возвышенности, служил общественным питьевым фонтаном. Вода, казалось, хлынула изо рта льва и была направлена вниз по склону холма через видимый канал, высеченный в скале рядом с лестницей. Над головой льва был вырезан канал для приема воды из источника Айн-Брак, расположенного вдоль склона горы по дороге в Тайбе, примерно в 4 километрах над Петрой. Вода собиралась в бассейне, а затем стекала в большую цистерну у подножия горы.

В конце добавил визуализацию из гугла, как там предположительно было.

Так что вполне себе была тут инфраструктура для жизни.
