В день рождения Леонида Алексеевича Колесникова, создателя Сиреневого сада, я побывал в Московской государственной думе на выставке измайловского художника Андрея Ковалевского, в экспозицию которой, что отрадно, были включены несколько работ посвящённых уникальному саду и Северному Измайлово, в котором он располагается.

Сиреневый сад был создан по инициативе Леонида Алексеевича в 1954 году на базе "Опытно-показательного селекционного питомника". Им лично было выведено 300 сортов сирени, за что он получил Сталинскую премию.

Сегодня в саду среди прочих кустарников растут такие великолепные сорта, как "Зоя Космодемьянская", "Мечта", "Гортензия", "Красавица Москвы" и др.
