О запуске протокола RGB объявили в середине июля. После запуска была сформировали ассоциация протоколов RGB, чтобы координировать и продвигать развитие и внедрение проекта. В число учредителей вошли Bitfinex, Plan B Network, ThunderStack, Boosty Labs, Bitmask by Diba, Fulgur Ventures, LNFI, Kaleidoswap и Tribe RGB.
