This (or is it last?) Saturday was my first Pro-Self Conference, and let me assure you, definitely not the last. Why? ‘Cause I loved it! I loved every single thing about it: the atmosphere, the people, the speakers, the organizer (Kate Panfilova, who is simply amazing!) 🤍
Every time I meet new people in the ELT sphere, I am flabbergasted by how interesting and varied we are! And everybody is genuinely fascinated by each other's experiences even if their work areas don’t overlap in any way. Wow!

On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands. Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram. Following this, Sebi, in an order passed in January 2022, established that the administrators of a Telegram channel having a large subscriber base enticed the subscribers to act upon recommendations that were circulated by those administrators on the channel, leading to significant price and volume impact in various scrips. Founder Pavel Durov says tech is meant to set you free Oh no. There’s a certain degree of myth-making around what exactly went on, so take everything that follows lightly. Telegram was originally launched as a side project by the Durov brothers, with Nikolai handling the coding and Pavel as CEO, while both were at VK.
