بالعودة للوراء في مارس 2023 اعتقل مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي FBI "كونور برايان فيتزباتريك" المعروف باسم "Pompompurin"، وكانت تلك بمثابة ضربة أولى للمنتدى الذي كان يحمل اسم "Breached". كان هذا المواطن الأمريكي المدير الرئيسي للمنتدى، الذي توقف عن العمل مؤقتًا. تولى فريق إدارة جديد من خمسة أشخاص إعادة بعث وإدارة المنتدى.
وفي فبراير الماضي أُلقي القبض في فرنسا على الهاكر الأول المشهور باسم "Intelbroker" الذي تم كشف هويته حديثا. وهو الشاب البريطاني "كاي ويست" ذو الـ 25 عاما الذي قام باختراق أكثر من 40 شركة عالمية مرموقة في الفترة من 2022 إلى 2025، وتسبب في خسائر بلغت 25 مليون دولار لعشرات الضحايا. #HackerNews

Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. Groups are also not fully encrypted, end-to-end. This includes private groups. Private groups cannot be seen by other Telegram users, but Telegram itself can see the groups and all of the communications that you have in them. All of the same risks and warnings about channels can be applied to groups. The company maintains that it cannot act against individual or group chats, which are “private amongst their participants,” but it will respond to requests in relation to sticker sets, channels and bots which are publicly available. During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform. Now safely in France with his spouse and three of his children, Kliuchnikov scrolls through Telegram to learn about the devastation happening in his home country. Following this, Sebi, in an order passed in January 2022, established that the administrators of a Telegram channel having a large subscriber base enticed the subscribers to act upon recommendations that were circulated by those administrators on the channel, leading to significant price and volume impact in various scrips.
