По всей стране разъяренные жители кидаются на полицейских, закидывают их фаерами и дымовыми шашкам — в ответ силовики хуярят по ним слезоточивым газом и пейнтбольными ружьями. Как сообщают СМИ, в акциях с 18 октября приняли участие около 7 миллионов человек.

Причинами протестов называют «курс Трампа на авторитаризм», жестокую миграционную политику и шатдаун (временно прекращение работы правительства).
