Проект расположен в районе города Тунчуань, провинция Шэньси. Это первый в мире проект электростанции сжатого воздуха мощностью 350 МВт.

Емкость накопителя энергии составляет 1400 МВтч, время накопления энергии - 6 часов, а выделение энергии - 4 часа. Максимальная годовая выработка электроэнергии - около 924 млн кВтч.
