Как указано в Commission Consolidated FAQs 833, если россиянин не включен в персональные санкционные списки, Еврокомиссия не видит оснований для отказа в открытии банковского счета. На это обратила внимание правозащитница Гера Угрюмова.

В документе также поясняется, что наличие любого вида на жительство в государстве-члене ЕС освобождает россиян от ограничения в 100 тысяч евро на счете. Однако даже отсутствие вида на жительство не должно служить препятствием для открытия банковского счета.
