سید محمدرضا کردستانی مشهور به میرزاده عشقی، شاعر، روزنامه‌نگار، نویسنده و نمایشنامه‌نویس ایرانی دوره مشروطیت و مدیر نشریه قرن بیستم بود؛ در اشعارش به مسائل مختلف سیاسی، اجتماعی و اعتقادی پرداخته است.
وی از جمله پیشگامان شعر نو می‌باشد. شعرهای عشقی بیشتر جنبه اجتماعی دارند. عشقی در کنار سرودن اشعار، به روزنامه‌نگاری نیز می‌پرداخت.
هرچند که به سبب صراحت لهجه و زبان آتشینش، روزنامه قرن بیستم بارها توقیف شد. همچنین او را یکی از نخستین چهره‌هایی می‌دانند که به حقوق زنان توجه داشته است.
عشقی کمی بیش از به قدرت رسیدن رضا شاه و به دستور رئیس تامینات نظمیه وقت، در سن سی سالگی ترور شد. در تاریخ ۱۲ تیرماه سال ۱۳۰۳ در خانه‌اش به دست دوتن ناشناس هدف تیر قرارگرفت و کشته شد.
