29 декабря 1960 года в круглосуточных детских яслях колхоза им. XX съезда в Олюторском районе (Камчатская обл.) вспыхнул пожар, в котором погибли 7 детей. Причиной пожара стала халатность дежурной няней, оставившей спички на видном для детей месте. Те, в свою очередь, подожгли новогоднюю ёлку. Сама же дежурная вместо спасения детей сбежала в контору правления колхоза, откуда затем прибыли люди для спасения детей.

Сведения о данном событии публикуются впервые. Документ выявлен в РГАНИ независимым исследователем Василенко О.А.
