В Казанском кафедральном соборе последний молебен перед отбытием святыни совершил наместник Александро-Невской лавры епископ Кронштадтский Вениамин. Ему сослужило духовенство Казанского кафедрального собора.
Проводить ковчег с частицей мощей святителя Тихона пришли сотни людей. Перед началом молебна владыка Вениамин обратился к собравшимся в храме.
Мощи святителя Тихона, Патриарха Московского и всея Руси, пребывали в Казанском кафедральном соборе Петербурга с 17 по 20 августа в рамках мероприятий юбилейного года 100-летия блаженной кончины святителя.
Ежедневно перед ковчегом со святыней духовенством Санкт-Петербургской митрополии совершались молебны с акафистом святителю Тихону.
За дни пребывания мощей святителя в Казанском кафедральном соборе к ним приложились почти 70 000 человек.
