تجدد المرجعية الدينية العليا في النجف الأشرف إدانتها الشديدة لتواصل العدوان العسكري على الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية وأي تهديد باستهداف قيادتها الدينية والسياسية العليا، وتحذر من أن القيام بخطوة اجرامية من هذا القبيل - بالإضافة إلى تجاوزه الواضح للمعايير الدينية والأخلاقية وانتهاكه الصارخ للأعراف والقوانين الدولية - ينذر بعواقب بالغة السوء في أوضاع هذه المنطقة برمّتها، وربما يؤدي إلى خروجها عن السيطرة تماماً وحدوث فوضى عارمة تزيد من معاناة شعوبها وتضر بمصالح الجميع إلى أبعد الحدود. ومن هنا فإننا نناشد جميع الجهات الدولية الفاعلة ودول العالم ولا سيما الدول الإسلامية أن يبذلوا قصارى جهودهم في سبيل وقف هذه الحرب الظالمة وإيجاد حلّ سلمي عادل للملف النووي الإيراني وفق قواعد القانون الدولي.
