Классификация "внештатных" дронов довольно условная, для простоты понимания темы в целом. Грубо их можно разделить на разведывательных и ударных. Ударные дроны в свою очередь могут быть сами в качестве боеприпаса (дроны - камикадзе), так и дроны, которые оснащаются специальными сбросами, под различные боеприпасы.
На данный момент, дронов очень много и данная отрасль стремительно развивается. Начиная с малых разведывательных квадрокоптеров (DJI mini), заканчивая большими дронами-бомбардировщиками, которые могут с собой нести мины от миномёта. А ещё, помимо беспилотных летательных аппаратов, также развивается наземные роботизированные комплексы.
