On 28 June 2025, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board approved the following recipients of the 2025 MGA Outstanding Large, Medium and Small Section Awards, based on 2024 activities:
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Large Section Award recipient is the IEEE Jordan Section from Region 8
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Medium Section Award recipient is the IEEE Iran Section from Region 8
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Small Section Award recipient is the IEEE Costa Rica Section from Region 9
Congratulations to the IEEE Jordan, Iran, and Costa Rica Sections for being selected for these awards and "For successful efforts in fulfilling the educational and scientific goals of IEEE for the benefit of the public by maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the Student Branches, Technical Chapters, and Affinity Groups within their geographic boundaries."

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. Following this, Sebi, in an order passed in January 2022, established that the administrators of a Telegram channel having a large subscriber base enticed the subscribers to act upon recommendations that were circulated by those administrators on the channel, leading to significant price and volume impact in various scrips. The regulator took order for the search and seizure operation from Judge Purushottam B Jadhav, Sebi Special Judge / Additional Sessions Judge.
