هفت کشور پیشرفته جهان، موسوم به گروه هفت شامل: آمریکا، انگلستان، کانادا، فرانسه، آلمان، ایتالیا و ژاپن به همراه اتحادیه اروپا، همچنین اعلام کرده‌اند که سرمایه‌گذاری بین‌المللی در طرح‌های نیروگاه‌های برقی بدون تجهیزات جمع‌آوری گازهای گلخانه‌ای باید متوقف شود.

Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so. Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram. Groups are also not fully encrypted, end-to-end. This includes private groups. Private groups cannot be seen by other Telegram users, but Telegram itself can see the groups and all of the communications that you have in them. All of the same risks and warnings about channels can be applied to groups. Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones.
