Ключевой темой стала защита национального каботажного судоходства. Особое внимание уделили Северному морскому пути, где сегодня доминируют суда под иностранными флагами. Профсоюзы договорились выработать совместную политику по защите рынков труда и обеспечению достойных условий для моряков.
Председатель Российского профсоюза моряков Юрий Сухоруков отметил, что новое объединение позволит усилить позиции национальных профсоюзов в отстаивании прав моряков на рабочие места.
