این دریاچه از خاص‌ترین و شگفت‌انگیزترین دریاچه‌های ایران و از جذاب‌ترین جاهای دیدنی‌ مازندران است.

🔹دریاچه‌ای طبیعی با قدمت ۲٫۵ میلیون سال و متعلق به عصر کواترنری زمین‌شناسی که در فهرست آثار ملی ایران نیز به ثبت رسید.
🔹آب این دریاچه زیبا و طبیعی،‌ تنها با نزولات جوی و بارش برف و باران تامین می‌شود و هیچ رودخانه یا چشمه‌ای در شکل‌گیری آن دخیل نیست.
🔹 تغییر مساحت این دریاچه در فصول پر بارش و کم‌ بارش سال،‌ از جمله ویژگی‌های خاص آن معرفی می‌شود؛ گستره‌ای ۱۷ هکتاری که با افزایش بارندگی، به ۳۰ هکتار می‌رسد و آب شالیزارهای اطراف را تامین می‌کند.
