"Владимир Путин! Арсений Турбин* уголовником не является. Требую немедленного освобождения из мест заключения!

За сутки до этого Гилин отправил президенту открытое письмо, в котором подчеркнул факт отсутствия какого-либо причиненного Арсением вреда и отметил, что его незначительная вина лежит в равной степени и на государстве.
