براساس این گزارش، در فاصله سال‌های 1996 تا 2012 سهم طبقه متوسط از جمعیت ایران از حدود 30 درصد به حدود 65 درصد رسیده بود و اگر تحریم‌ها رخ نمی‌داد، تا سال 2020 بیش از 75 درصد جمعیت ایران جزو طبقه متوسط بودند.
