Am 5. Februar 1945 wurden die Magdeburger Kommunisten Hermann Danz, Martin Schwantes, Fritz Rödel und Johann Schellheimer im Zuchthaus Brandenburg-Görden von den Nazi-Faschisten ermordet. Sie alle waren Mitglieder einer antifaschistischen Widerstandsgruppe, die als Danz-Schwantes-Gruppe in die Geschichte eingegangen ist. Wir wollen heute an die mutigen Magdeburger Kämpferinnen und Kämpfer gegen den Faschismus erinnern.
