شاهزاده رضا پهلوی شامگاه روز سه شنبه ۱۶ اردیبهشت، برابر با ۶ می ۲۰۲۵، در واکنش به دستگیری هفت تن از عاملان جمهوری اسلامی توسط پلیس ضد تروریست بریتانیا، این موضوع را نشاندهنده عدم قصد جمهوری اسلامی برای تغییر رفتار خود دانستند و چنین نوشتند: "دستگیری عوامل جمهوری اسلامی در بریتانیا، در آستانه‌ی وقوع یک حمله‌ی تروریستی دیگر، بار دیگر ضرورت تروریستی اعلام کردن سپاه پاسداران را تقویت می‌کند. این رژیم بار دیگر نشان داده که قصدی برای تغییر رفتار خود ندارد. همچنان به گسترش ترور نه تنها در خاورمیانه، بلکه علیه غیرنظامیان بی‌گناه در سراسر اروپا و ایالات متحده ادامه می‌دهد. خبر خوب این است که آیت‌الله و رژیمش بیش از هر زمان دیگری تضعیف شده‌اند. مردم ایران به‌ستوه آمده‌اند و آماده‌اند مسیری تازه را، بدون این رژیم جنایت‌کار، به‌سوی صلح آغاز کنند."

Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. What distinguishes the app from competitors is its use of what's known as channels: Public or private feeds of photos and videos that can be set up by one person or an organization. The channels can be followed by an unlimited number of people. Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social networks, there is no advertising on Telegram and the flow of information is not driven by an algorithm. Now safely in France with his spouse and three of his children, Kliuchnikov scrolls through Telegram to learn about the devastation happening in his home country. The perpetrators use various names to carry out the investment scams. They may also impersonate or clone licensed capital market intermediaries by using the names, logos, credentials, websites and other details of the legitimate entities to promote the illegal schemes. The company maintains that it cannot act against individual or group chats, which are “private amongst their participants,” but it will respond to requests in relation to sticker sets, channels and bots which are publicly available. During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform.
