شیرزاد احمدنژاد شیرزاد ۴۱ ساله روز ۲۵ بهمن ۱۴۰۱ در اعتراض‌های بوکان دستگیر شد و حدود یک ماه بعد در زندان ارومیه کشته شد. به گفته یک منبع آگاه:« ۱۹ روز بعد از دستگیری شیرزاد، از اداره اطلاعات سپاه با خانواده او تماس گرفته و اطلاع دادند که او در یکی از بازداشتگاه‌های این نهاد در ارومیه زندانی است.» یکی از نزدیکان او به بی بی سی فارسی گفته بود: «در زندان تحت فشارهای شدید روحی قرار گرفته و به همین دلیل سکته کرد. او پیش از بازداشت بیماری کلیه گرفتار بود .» نیروهای امنیتی با گذشت دو روز از مرگ شیرزاد، در تماسی با با خانواده او اطلاع دادند که شیرزاد کالبدشکافی شده است؛ اقدامی که بدون اجازه از خانواده صورت گرفته بود. شیرزاد احمد نژاد پارچه‌فروش بود. سه فرزند داشت. از اطرافیان او نقل است که همیشه می‌گفته آرزوی، دیدن عروسی فرزندانش را دارد.
