🚨Utah Bill Aims to Significantly Slash Sex Offender Registry Time to 10 Years for Certain Cases, Citing "Unfairness" to Predators - A Very Dangerous Move.

In an interview Utah Senator Todd Weiler said, “This is like my third or fourth attempt at the sex offender database,” he said, “only because I keep on getting contacted by these families saying, ‘We feel like this has become a lifelong sentence and we don’t think it’s fair.”

This legislation seeks to reduce registration times for not only individuals convicted of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, but also sexual abuse of a child, and sexual exploitation of a minor on a case-by-case basis.

Because my open feedback is that I hope this legislation is killed as fast as the sacred innocence of these little children who are sexually abused over and over.

As a former police officer, I've seen firsthand that certain crimes, particularly those involving the sexual abuse of children, should absolutely warrant lifetime consequences for the perpetrators, especially those who molest children. Why? Because this diabolical behaviors guarantees lifetime consequences of trauma, pain, anguish, and PTSD for the victims and their families, even when their older; no matter how many counseling sessions they sit in, or priesthood church blessings they receive.

A lifetime registry isn't at all punitive or “unfair” to the perpetrators; it’s actually an act of compassion towards society, all of us, ensuring that everyone knows who the predators/pedophiles are in the community/neighborhood thus, preventing future lifetime harm to others.

Individuals with a sexual attraction to children often retain these inclinations for life. This is their thing. And it doesn’t just “go away”. Reducing time down on a sexual registry list isn’t worth the risk to potential victims who would never know they were on the list to begin with.

My personal stance may be seen as too extreme in a society that clearly doesn’t understand the pain victims go through their entire lives: those who sexually abuse others, especially children, should face at least a life sentence in prison, if not an immediate death sentence. Even Jesus Himself emphasized the gravity of such offenses, stating, "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." (Luke 17:2)

You do not mess with little kids. Period. There's nothing more vile in our society than the act of child molestation. And an adult willing to commit such an act should never be allowed to mingle with children ever again, anywhere on this planet. And if they are out in society, we should all know who they are.
