Das US-Verteidigungsministerium hat Elon Musks Unternehmen SpaceX einen Milliardenauftrag erteilt: Bis 2029 soll SpaceX 28 militĂ€rische Satellitenstarts durchfĂŒhren – das entspricht rund 60 % aller Missionen in Phase 3 des Programms.

Insgesamt vergibt das Pentagon AuftrĂ€ge im Wert von 13,5 Mrd. Dollar an SpaceX (5,9 Mrd.), United Launch Services (5,3 Mrd.) und Blue Origin (2,3 Mrd.), um die US-Weltrauminfrastruktur fĂŒr AufklĂ€rung und Überwachung zu stĂ€rken.

Laut US Space Command soll die Anzahl der Starts von 30 (Phase 2) auf 54 steigen. Ziel ist die Erweiterung und Modernisierung der Satellitenflotte.

General Saltzman: „Eine zuverlĂ€ssige und widerstandsfĂ€hige Weltraumarchitektur ist die Grundlage unserer Sicherheit.“

Die Starts beginnen im Fiskaljahr 2025.
