The title could be about a weighted blanket, or a comfy hoodie, but it's not. It is actually about the event I was lucky enough to be invited to.
It still bogs my mind just how cozy I felt in a completely new city with almost all unknown people (I was extremely fortunate to meet Asiya, who we attended a speaking club with, IRL 🩷 and of course I knew Liliya Ayatskova, the soul and the leader of the team 🧡).
Even though I am not taking about blankets (I kind of am actually LOL), throughout the whole event I felt as though I was wrapped snuggly into one, sitting in my rocking chair with a cup of tea.
And it's all because of the people (organizers, speakers and anybody and everybody I managed to talk to) and the ambience they created ☀️
So, the perfect ratio for me is 1 cozy ELT-event/50 or so amazing people.
I am definitely coming back to Voronezh.
P.S. If you have seen my presentation, I would be supremely grateful if you shared any feedback you might have 🩷

Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities.
