Идея торжества над смертью и мучителями, явленная Воскресением Христа, находит многочисленные примеры в житийных сюжетах: огонь обращается против мучителей апостола Матфея (фото 7), наëмники расправляются с ханом Мамаем (фото 8), а коварный убийца, напавший на жителей дома, охранявшегося иконой Богоматери, в порыве раскаяния убивает сам себя (фото 9).
