Первым владельцем участка земли у села Турмасово был селекционер Иван Мичурин. Однако местная почва не подошла для его опытов, и он продал поместье дворянской семье Снежковых, стараниями которых и был возведен главный усадебный дом. В советские годы здание служило санаторием, школой садоводов и даже счетно-вычислительным центром, но к концу ХХ века оказалось заброшено — как и бюст Мичурину, установленный перед ним.
