وفقاً لحساب "الجنرال إس في آر" على إكس، الذي يُزعم أنه يديره جاسوس روسي سابق، عانى (59 عاماً) يوم الأحد الماضي، من نوبة مفاجئة تضمنت سعالاً عنيفاً وصعوبة في التنفس.
وقال المصدر: "هناك كل الأسباب للاعتقاد بأن محاولة اغتيال جرت".
وقيل إن الأسد تلقى العلاج في شقته، وإن حالته الصحية استقرت يوم الاثنين. وأفادت التقارير أن الاختبارات أظهرت وجود سم في نظامه.
