MY FIRST CONFERENCE AS A SPEAKER
Having calmed down from the stress of presenting, I guess it’s high time to share some insights from the Trendy English 11 Conference.
I was once again reminded about how awesome English teachers are. Even though I am not a blogger or a school owner like many of the speakers, the feedback was amazing. I suffer from a serious case of the imposter syndrome (like many of us), so just the fact that the audience listened was astonishing.
At first I was shaking in my boots, literally, but after jumping into a mountain river, the only thing you can do is to go with the flow, which I did.
The support from my colleagues was staggering. These amazing people supported me every step of the way! I love them so much, it’s unimaginable!
Immediately after the conference I was sure that I would be back as the jitters are a legal drug indeed.
However, now I am not so sure. Maybe it’s that pesky imposter syndrome speaking, but finding a niche is going to be really hard. And I would probably have to make a real blog or something, which is bothersome.
At the moment, I think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. But my opinion is fickle, so I might and probably will change my mind a hundred times.
I got a mug and some nice tea out of it! And invaluable experience of course.
