Если вы на машине, то очень рекомендуем от Палеха сделать небольшой крюк в 40 км до города Лух.

Там очень много всякой настоящей красоты: храмовый комплекс из прекрасных церквей XVII–XVIII века, почти полностью сохранившийся земляной вал Лухской крепости, а также дом, куда в конце XVII века был сослан один из наших любимых героев Артамон Матвеев, погибший сразу по возвращении из Луха на крыльце царского дворца во время стрелецкого бунта 1682 года. То есть в Лухе сохранился и жилой дом XVII века, что для России — очень большая редкость.
