Зарегистрировались на участие в турнире около 80 человек. На открытии приветственное слово сказал отец погибшего Сергей Падиков
Денис обучался в Полярной шахматной школе Анатолия Карпова с 2004 по 2016 годы. Имел 1 спортивный разряд, участвовал в соревнованиях разного уровня, передавал опыт начинающим шахматистам.
