Это решение было принято на специальном заседании Священного Синода ПЦА, которое прошло 21 мая 2025 года.
Основанием для признания каноничности МЦП стало обращение Патриарха Сербского к Предстоятелю ПЦА и томос об автокефалии, предоставленный СПЦ Македонской Церкви.
На данный момент идет подготовка к сослужению митрополита Тихона и архиепископа Стефана в вашингтонском соборе в честь святителя Николая.
