The 2nd Eastern military district court at Novosibirsk has sentenced 24-year-old Ilya Baburin, in the case of an arson of a military recruitment centre that did not happen. Baburin was found guilty under an array of Articles, including “treason against the state” and “attempted organisation of a terrorist act”. The court sentenced Ilya to 25 years’ imprisonment, of which the first five years must be served in prison, and the remaining 20 in a strict regime colony.
Ilya pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. His lawyer, Vasily Dubkov, called on the court to acquit his client.

Founder Pavel Durov says tech is meant to set you free DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice.
