The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a driving force in markets for the past few weeks. The regulator said it has been undertaking several campaigns to educate the investors to be vigilant while taking investment decisions based on stock tips. "There is a significant risk of insider threat or hacking of Telegram systems that could expose all of these chats to the Russian government," said Eva Galperin with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which has called for Telegram to improve its privacy practices. Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress. However, the perpetrators of such frauds are now adopting new methods and technologies to defraud the investors.
