Rendue le 15 novembre, la décision du tribunal d'application des peines a ordonné la libération du militant libanais à compter du 6 décembre à la condition que celui-ci quitte le territoire français et n'y revienne pas. Son avocat a alors salué « une victoire juridique et politique » soulignant que le rendu de la décision n'exige plus d'arrêté d'expulsion et évoque « la longueur de la peine complètement exceptionnelle et disproportionnée ainsi que l'importance de la campagne de soutien ». Cependant, le parquet antiterroriste a immédiatement fait appel et la demande de libération sera de nouveau examinée le 19 décembre 2024.
