🔸 در سه دهه‌ی گذشته، جمعیت انسان‌های بالای ۶۵ سال، بیش از سه برابر شده است، و تقریبا همه‌ی کشورهای جهان، شاهد رشد جمعیت سالمند خود بوده‌اند. پیش‌بینی می‌شود که این تعداد تا سال ۲۰۵۰ دو برابر شود و به حدود ۱.۶ میلیارد نفر در سراسر جهان برسد! در نتیجه توجه به سلامت این گروه آسیب‌پذیر جامعه، اهمیتی روزافزون دارد.
