«Заканчивается 2024 год, в истории нашей республики он запомнится своими большими достижениями и яркими впечатлениями. Мы открыли знаковые для республики объекты: новый терминал аэропорта «Байкал» и запустили «Озерный» горно-обогатительный комбинат, приступили к строительству театра «Байкал», Национального музея. Мы отметили 50-летие БАМа».

Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day."
