Як свідчать результати поїздок аналітиків DeepState на Сумщину восени 2024 року, збудовані інженерно-фортифікаційні споруди у відтинку Журавка – Новеньке – Басівка виявилися переважно символічними: окопи та підземні пункти, іноді накриті сітками від FPV-дронів, але без належних інженерних загороджень. ІФС розташовані в загальному на відстані приблизно 20-25-ти кілометрів від держкордону, тобто в глибині території.

На супутниковому знімку за 25 квітня 2025 року можна побачити, що фортифікації на відтинку Журавка-Новеньке-Басівка повністю відсутні аж до лінії Хотінь – Писарівка – Кияниця – Храпівщина – Юнаківка.

Ці спостереження підтвердили й військові.
