المرجع الدينيّ السيّد أبو الحسن الأصفهانيّ [المتوفى ١٣٦٥هـ] كان من أعلام فقهاء الطائفة ومن أشهر مراجع التقليد، نقل الفقيه المعاصر السيّد موسى الشبيريّ الزنجانيّ قصّة عن سبب عدم ذهاب السيّد أبو الحسن للحجّ بأحد كتبه الفارسيّة وهذه ترجمتها:
«المرحوم الآقا السيّد أبو الحسن الأصفهانيّ لم يتشرف بالذهاب للحجّ، وقد سمعت أنه كان يقول في علّة ذلك: إذا تشرفت للحج فيجب أن أستطيع على إعمار قبور أئمة البقيع عليهم السلام، وإذا لم أستطع فعل ذلك ستكون ضربة كبيرة للتشيع. لأنه سيقولون: جاء المرجع العام للشيعة ولم يستطع فعل شيء!».

Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. VK is Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, a social network used for public and private messaging, audio and video sharing as well as online gaming. In January, SimpleWeb reported that VK was Russia’s fourth most-visited website, after Yandex, YouTube and Google’s Russian-language homepage. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation." A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts.
