Под многогранником мы понимаем такую совокупность конечного числа плоских многоугольников в трёхмерном евклидовом пространстве, что:
1) каждая сторона любого из них является стороной в точности еще одного многоугольника;
2) пересечение любых двух многоугольников является либо их общей стороной, либо их общей вершиной, либо пустым множеством;
3) от любого из многоугольников можно перейти к любому другому по цепочке многоугольников, в которой последовательные многоугольники имеют общую сторону;
4) если два многоугольника имеют общую вершину, то соединяющую их цепочку можно составить из многоугольников, которые все имеют эту вершину.
