🔹این آزمایش شامل ۴۶۷ شرکت‌کننده با میانگین سنی ۳۲ سال بود که تصادفی انتخاب شدند. آنها برای پژوهشی یک‌ماهه به ۲ گروه تقسیم شدند: گروهی که در ۲ هفته اول ماه اینترنت روی گوشی هوشمند خود نداشتند و گروهی که در ۲ هفته دوم ماه اینترنت نداشتند. در وسط ماه نیز این ۲ گروه نقش خود را عوض کردند و به محققان این امکان را دادند تا اثرات بازگرداندن اینترنت را روی شرکت‌کنندگان بررسی کنند.
🔹از نظر آماری تقریباً همه شرکت‌کنندگان (۹۱ درصد) حداقل در یکی از این ۳ مقوله سلامت روان، رفاه ذهنی و دامنه توجه بهبود یافتند اما نکته قابل‌توجه این است که گستره توجه به درجه‌ای رسید که می‌توان آن را با ۱۰ سال جوان‌تر شدن انسان مسن و مبتلا به زوال شناختی مقایسه کرد.
